God's Way In 60 Days

As a published author and musician, I have realized that there are seasons to this event we call life. We go through highs, we go through lows, we go through times where we question why things are happening the way they do. With all this being said, I started working on my first scripture-based poetic devotional collection after my book, This K-9 Of Mine came out in a paperback version.

After MANY setbacks and twists and turns, I was finally able to put a scripture reference and a title to each of these spiritual poems which was no easy task, but thank God it is finally all coming together! The book is going to be titled, God’s Way In 60 Days. You can sign up below to be notified of its publishing date.

I really poured my heart out into these. They are not judgmental in any way because God knows I am so far from perfect, but because of his grace I can face each day. If you need encouragement, direction, or strength, I hope this book is a blessing.

This is my strongest spiritual poem I ever wrote.

The Tattered Sweater

John 8:7 KJV
So, when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them,
“He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her”.

Fearfully the woman entered the room catching judgmental glances.
Feeling she might be stoned to death, if these men only had their chances.

She sits in the back as everyone greets.
But no one dares to come near, the stranger in the back seat.

Beaten up by this world, she was searching for something new,
as she slid even lower in the seat of her pew.

The music was over, the offering plate passed.
She had only twenty cents to give, as one of the ushers laughed.

Her tattered sweater and uncut hair
only helped to provoke more condemning stares.

Then came the sermon. Maybe there was hope
for the woman who was just about at the end of her rope.

The message was about a woman caught in her sins.
And the stoning situation she found herself in.

He who is without sin, cast the first stone.
As the woman in the back came to the altar alone.

This world had caused this woman, so much shame and hurt.
But not nearly as much as that day in this church.

She cried loudly, as she returned to her seat.
Then out the door she ran, back out on the street.

Then as the service ended, one of the deacons prayed,
“Thank you for making us more like you, each and every day!

And thank you for all of our earthly riches, you sure do make life better.”
But the only one that knew God in the church that day, was the woman with the tattered sweater!
